These are lists of those pubs that we know of in and around the Highlands & Western Isles Branch area which sold real ale the last time we checked. Inclusion on this list is for information only, and does not constitute a recommendation. There are no guarantees that the pub still sells real ale, or that the real ale is well kept. Recent changes are noted but not immediately deleted. Please e-mail if you are able to provide up-to-date information.
We have taken the liberty of listing some pubs which fall within adjoining Branch Areas - Glasgow & West of Scotland (G&WS), Aberdeen & Northern Isles (A&NI) - but which are not very far from our "border" and merit a visit.
Please contact web@highlandcamra.org.uk if you know of any additions or deletions.
Inverness & District North (North of the River Ness)
Inverness & District South (South of the River Ness)
All real ale hotels and pubs known to the branch have been included in these lists, but for where we think you'll find the best beer, see the latest Good Beer Guide.
Pubs which have websites are linked where URLs are known. Please email if you can suggest any new ones to add or discover any broken links.
Some pubs and hotels which might be considered to be in the Highlands & Islands, and which are very close to our branch area, are listed under the relevant branch.
The Orkney and Shetland Isles are covered by Aberdeen, Grampian, & Northern Isles CAMRA, and Mull, Jura, Islay, Gigha, Arran, Bute, (and many more) are part of Glasgow & West Scotland CAMRA.
